Rates are a charge against a property (rating unit) and set by your local and regional councils.

Rates instalment deferral

If you are experiencing financial stress, you can apply to postpone payment of instalment one, due on 1 September 2020, for six months without incurring penalties.

    You can pay your rates online, by direct debit, internet or telephone banking, by mail or in person.

        Instalment details

        Rates are billed in four instalments for the rating year, which begins 1 July and ends 30 June.
