Work permits

To do work in a cemetery, you need a permit. Contractors are required to carry a copy of their permit while doing work.

When you need a permit

Permits are issued for:

  • removing or erecting an upright headstone
  • removing or placing a memorial plaque
  • reinstating a grave floor
  • pressure washing
  • any significant repair work to memorials or headstones
  • additional inscriptions
  • general maintenance/tidy up by family.

Apply for a permit

When you’re completing the permit application, you must acknowledge any potential work hazards before starting work.
