Wellington City Council may grant a rate remission of up to a maximum of $5,000 (including GST) on a new residential dwelling, where construction is completed after 01 July 2017 within the boundaries of Wellington City Council.
To qualify for this remission, the applicant must meet the following criteria:
- be a New Zealand permanent resident or citizen
- this will be their first home
- the home must be a new build.
An application can be made after code of compliance has been issued for the building consent.
