Paying for a booking

You can pay for bookings at Wellington City Council run community centres through our Pay Online system. Please select the 'Community Centres and Halls' option, and choose the community centre you have booked from the list.

Alcohol sales and supply

If you want to sell and supply alcohol, you need to apply for a special liquor licence. Allow 25 days for your application to be processed.

Prices

The prices listed are for the following Wellington City Council run community centres:

Prices - GST inclusive
Community groups $19 per hour
Commercial $25 per hour
Private event $30 per hour
Commercial private $42 per hour
Bond (required for all after hours bookings)  Varies
Venue security check fee (Pre-scheduled, non-refundable and required for bookings ending after 10pm or with alcohol) $39.16
Venue security call out (Unscheduled: When security is called to attend during an event) $78.32

User categories

Community groups:
Booking party is a community group for community benefit and does not charge attendees per session (eg youth group, cultural group, networking group).

Commercial:
Booking party takes fees from attendees, open participation (eg yoga class, children's dance class).

Private event:
Non-commercial, closed to the public (eg birthday party, dance practice).

Commercial private:
Booking party is a business, closed to the public.

Open groups:
Booking party does not charge attendees (eg a discussion, support or craft group). All-comers welcomed, 2-hour time limit applies.
