Candidate profile statement

I have lived in Tawa with my family for 34 years and my four children attended local schools. I am a member of Our Lady of Hope Parish, the Tawa U3A, and the Tawa RSA.

I have qualifications in civil engineering and public policy. I have worked for the Wellington City Council, and have been in senior management at Porirua City Council and Local Government NZ (the national body for local authorities).

I have expertise and an interest in the needs of seniors and in transport, public transport, water, wastewater, waste minimisation, and the environment. I believe that some of the key community issues that I would advocate for are improved traffic management and parking in the Main Road and the Linden shopping centre, access to bus and train services, commuter car parking, upgrading of bridges, key planning issues and recreational facilities for young families.
