Candidate profile statement
Tawa residents deserve strong representation. I’ve lived here for 28 years, because it’s the place my wife Sue and I chose to raise our two daughters (now adults). Now I want to serve my community through election to the Tawa Community Board.
Last year I retired from full-time management roles. I was Chief Executive of Local Government NZ for eight years; before that, a senior executive in the energy sector, and a lawyer practicing in London and Wellington. So I understand governance, and local government, and I want to harness that experience for Tawa.
I’ve got the time and plenty of energy to help the Community Board look for better ways to deliver on its mandate, and work with the local community and businesses in the best interests of Tawa. I’m a positive person who gets things done, so I would welcome your support in this by-election.
