You must be 5 years or older to use the spa pool, and 16 years or older to use the sauna and steam room.

Swim memberships are an economical option if you swim at our pools 3 or more times a week. They're available for all Council pools.

Swim memberships

Concession passes are a convenient and cheap option if you use our pools regularly – buy a concession pass. For current LeisureCard members, your discount is automatically applied if it's available on the pass you're buying.

Concession passes are non-refundable, non-transferable, and are valid for two years.

Groups can book swimming lanes. Minimum 6 swimmers required.

Limited full pool bookings may be considered for significant community events or activities.

Community group fees: $10.50 per hour for a lane

Commercial fees: $33 per hour for a lane

We need at least 10 days notice for booking requests. All bookings are subject to availability.

We offer a range of exercise aquafitness classes.

Hydrotherapy classes are held at Wellington Regional Aquatic Centre's hydrotherapy pool.

You can store your things in the free cubby holes by the main pool. Some of these are lockable. Bring your own padlock or borrow one from reception.

You can also keep small items safe at reception – just ask for a free valuables tray. We'll give you a tag which you can hand back when you want to collect your items.

You can bring snacks and drinks into the facility, but no glass bottles.

We sell swimming caps, ear plugs, goggles and nose clips.

Privately-operated massage therapists offer deep tissue, pregnancy, relaxation, therapeutic and sports massage.

You are welcome to breastfeed in public at our pools.

1 x family changing room

Children under 3 years old must wear a waterproof nappy or Little Swimmer swimming pants in the pool.

You can buy Huggies Little Swimmers for infants at our swim shop.

The building is wheelchair accessible via a ramp.

A ramp also provides wheelchair access to the pool. There is a slight lip at the edge of the pool to be aware of that may affect some users.

Our lift is under construction, so we do not have wheelchair access to our fitness centre at the moment.

Available upon request to assist users with disabilities and mobility impairments to access the pool. Lifts may only be operated by staff.

At our pools without ramp access, we have removeable accessibility steps that are placed in the pool to give increased ease of access into the water.

These are left in the pool as much as possible, however they are removed during our peak booking times when there is restricted space. The stairs can be requested during these times if they are required.

Freyberg Pool's main carpark has 74 car parks, all with a 4-hour parking limit. On-street parking costs apply to this carpark.

For ClubActive and swim members, there are an additional 20 spaces behind our barrier arm, which are free for up to 2 hours while using the facility. To access this area, you need to scan your membership keytag at the barrier arm.
