We asked for your feedback on a new Youth Hub in the central city.
The project comes as part of the Pōneke Promise; a joint programme of work between local government, NZ Police and the local business community. The aim of the Pōneke Promise is to create a central city that is safe, vibrant, and welcoming. To find out more, visit the Pōneke Promise section.
One initiative of the programme is to increase community spaces for people in the city. In May 2020 we opened Te Wāhi Āwhina – a community space connecting people with support agencies.
Next steps
- October 2021: Engagement opens, hui mid October.
- November 2021: Collating feedback from community engagement.
- September 2022: Location to be confirmed.
- Summer 2023: Opening ceremony and celebration.
