Schools and sports clubs often book sportsgrounds for games and practices.
Note:
- All Wellington City Council sportsgrounds are smoke and vape free areas.
- Golf practice and dogs are not allowed at Council sportsfields.
Book in advance
You need to give us at least 5 working days notice.
Booking in advance means we can prepare the grounds, and unlock and clean toilets and changing rooms if needed.

If you want to book a sportsground or park for an event, such as a fundraiser or sausage sizzle, make a booking request to hold an outdoor event.

Electronic key (fob) to access track can be purchased from our Service Centre, Newtown Library and Newtown Park Depot (113 Russell Terrace). Keys are valid until 1 November and must be renewed annually.
