Lennel Road slip remediation

We are remediating the slip on Lennel Road, outside 24 Upper Watt Street.

About the project

We will be remediating the slip in Lennel Road, outside 24 Upper Watt Street, in Wadestown. This involves the installation of anchored mesh and a concrete wall. Works will begin on Tuesday 9 January 2024 and are expected to be completed by 10 May 2024 (weather dependant). Works will be carried out Monday to Friday between 7am-6pm, and Saturday 7am-6pm (not every week).

The slip remediation works will help to ensure Lennel Road is safer and more resilient to road users and pedestrians.

Wellington City Council has contracted Geovert Ltd. to do this work.

Traffic management

Lennel Road will have a temporary speed reduction throughout the works. A temporary traffic management will be in place through Stop/Go or portable traffic lights. The road will be reduced to a single lane under a reduced speed limit. The public footpath below the worksite will be temporarily closed or have limited access during construction. Pedestrians are advised to use an alternative route where possible.
