Submissions are open from 18 July to 12 September 2022.

How to make a submission

There are three ways to make a submission on the Proposed District Plan (PDP):

  1. Explore and submit through the online Proposed District Plan.
  2. Send us your Proposed District Plan submission form by email.
  3. Send us your Proposed District Plan submission form by post.

1. Through the online Proposed District Plan

This tool includes all the topics and the PDP, an interactive map and a submissions section. Visit the plan online, explore the map and details, and then click Submissions to give feedback. You will need to create an account.

2. Submission form - Email

Download the submission form below, fill it in and email it to: PDPsubmissions@wcc.govt.nz

3. Submission form - Post

Download the submission form below, fill it in and post it to the address:

If you don't have a printer you can collect a submission form from our one of our many libraries and community centres.

Making many submission points

Please use this table to make a submission with many individual submission points and attach with the Proposed District Plan submission form:

Note: Our submission form is based on the Resource Management Act’s Form 5. This is to ensure you are providing all the information required in your submission. Although you can use other formats, failure to meet the requirements may lead to the rejection of your submission.

Guidance for making submissions

The Proposed District Plan is complex, so understanding how to make an effective submission is important.

Submission guidelines

Here are a few pointers to help you with your submission:

  • Familiarise yourself with parts of the Proposed District Plan that interest you by reading the Proposed District Plan, information sheets and related reports.
  • Make sure your submission relates to a specific part of the Proposed District Plan.
  • Provide alternatives to things you think should be changed.
  • Support your submission with evidence and references.
  • Make sure your submission is concise.
  • Get your submission in early.
