The Building Amendment Act 2024 has been enacted, extending earthquake-prone building (EPB) notice deadlines. From Tuesday 2 April 2024, owners of earthquake-prone buildings with valid notices will receive a 4-year extension to their remediation deadlines.
This applies to all eligible notices, regardless of the building's priority status. Building owners are encouraged to continue with planned remediation work despite the extended timeframe.
