Beach exercise areas

There are many designated beaches throughout the city where your dog is free to exercise off-leash.

Exercising dogs during COVID-19 lockdown

Remember to exercise your dog ‘in your bubble’. If you drive 5 minutes to a dog exercise area, walk there instead. Otherwise, walk your dog on the streets close to home and remember to keep them on lead. Discourage other walkers from petting or touching your dog.

Companion Animals NZ have information on their website about caring for and exercising your animals during COVID-19.
