Proposed Road closure Saturday 15 November 2025 6.00am to 11.30pm. Rain day Sunday 16 November 2025 6.00am to 11.30pm.
- Rhodes Street between Riddiford Street and Ferguson Street)
- Arney Street (all of Arney Street)
- No Parking outside 253 and 257 Riddiford Street
- The outdoor market closes at 8.30pm.
Street Activation
Saturday 6.00am 13 September 2025 to Sunday 6.00am 14 September 2025.

Wilson Street – Pop-Up Events
Proposed Road Closure Wilson Street (Riddiford Street to 5 Wilson Street) including the off-street public carpark. To occur between 6pm Friday and 8pm Sunday on 1st and 3rd weekend from 1 July 2025 to 30 June 2026.
For 2025 – 2026 The Saturday dates of the weekends requested will be:
- 5 and 19 July 2025
- 2 and 16 August 2025
- 6 and 20 September 2025
- 4 and 18 October 2025
- 1 and 15 November 2025
- 6 December 2025 (nothing through Christmas, New Year nor during January)
- 7 February 2026 (21 February 2026 is too close to Newtown Festival
- 7 and 21 March 2026 (and only as a contingency for Newtown Festival 8 March)
- 4 and 18 April 2026 (11 April is Newtown Festival’s postponement date, 4 is Easter)
- 2 and 16 May 2026
- 6 and 20 June 2026.

Proposed Road Closure 8th March 2026 5.00am to 9.00pm. Postponement Date – Sunday 12 April 2026 5.00am to 9.00pm
- Riddiford Street between Mein Street and Rhodes Street
- Rintoul Street between Riddiford Street and Millward Street. Note: the segment of this Rintoul Street closure from Colombo Street to Riddiford Street begins Saturday 7 March 2026 at 6pm to – 11.30pm
- Hall Street number 10 to Riddiford Street
- Emmett Street All
- Green Street All
- Wilson Street outside number 15 to Riddiford Street (includes the off-street public carpark) Wilson is closed till 11.30pm for pack down.
- Constable Street from Daniell Street to Riddiford Street
- Newtown Avenue from outside number 21 to Riddiford Street
- Normanby Street from outside number 14 to Riddiford Street
- Donald Mclean Street from outside number 29 to Riddiford Street (includes in front of the Chinese Baptist church)

One Way Streets for the festival bypass and Bus Diversion
- Daniell Street becomes ONE WAY NORTH from Constable St to Mein Street
- Owen Street becomes ONE WAY SOUTH from Mein St to Constable St
- NO PARKING in streets outside the Newtown Festival site 5.00am to 9.00pm
- Mein Street from Riddiford St to Daniel St both sides and from Daniell St to Owen St north side only
- Owen Street outside number 17 east side only, outside number 35 east side only, outside number 51 east side only
- Rhodes Street from number 6 to number 12 south side only
- Mansfield Street from Rhodes St to number 310 both sides.
Any person objecting to a proposed road closure must contact the City Council in writing before 4pm, Friday 30 May 2025.
