What happened to this consultation?

We sought feedback on a range of proposals and initiatives intended to make Wellington more resilient, vibrant and competitive in the future, so that residents can continue to have a high quality of life.

The proposed measures form part of Our 10-Year Plan, the Council’s blueprint for investment priorities over the next decade.

The Council proposed to focus on five priority areas:

  • Resilience and environment
  • Housing
  • Transport
  • Sustainable growth
  • Arts and culture

Submissions

We received 2067 submissions from a range of organisations and individuals on our Long-term Plan 2018-28.

On 22 May 2018, an oral forum was held where submitters discussed their submissions with elected members and other submitters. On 23, 24, 29 and 30 May 2018, oral submissions were heard.

Deliberations and final decision

  • On 6 June 2018, the Council considered the public feedback and officers’ recommendations on the draft Long-term Plan 2018–28.
  • On 27 June 2018, the final Long-term Plan 2018–28 was adopted.
