What happened to this consultation?

We sought feedback on a range of proposals and initiatives intended to make Wellington more resilient, vibrant and competitive in the future, so that residents can continue to have a high quality of life.


The proposed measures form part of Our 10-Year Plan, the Council’s blueprint for investment priorities over the next decade.


The Council proposed to focus on five priority areas:


  • Resilience and environment
  • Housing
  • Transport
  • Sustainable growth
  • Arts and culture

The feedback received will help inform important decisions about Wellington’s future - see some of what we've heard.

Next steps

  • Submitters were given the opportunity to deliver a spoken submission between Tuesday 22 May and Thursday 24 May. These oral forums are open for the public to attend.
  • The Mayor and Councillors will consider all the submissions and Council staff recommendations before agreeing to a final Long-term Plan 2018-28. This will be available on our website from 28 July.
