Dog registration refunds

If your dog dies and you have paid for this year's registration, you can make a written request for a refund of fees for the rest of the registration year.

The amount of your refund will depend on when you let us know your dog has died:

  • If your dog dies and you notify us before the start of the registration year on 1 July, we'll refund you the full fee paid.
  • If your dog dies during the year, we'll refund you 1/12th of the annual fee for each complete month left in the registration year after the date you let us know.

If you want your refund paid direct to your bank account, please provide:

  • a copy of your bank deposit slip, OR
  • a screenshot or a print-out of your account details from your internet banking site.

Alternatively, you can request your refund be paid to the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPCA) on your behalf.

Note: You must return the tag and/or provide proof from your vet.
