Voting papers can be returned at orange voting bins across Wellington, dropped in a post box, or delivered in person to one of our voting hubs.

Orange voting bins

There are over 50 orange voting bins where you can drop off your voting papers across Wellington. Bins are located at Wellington supermarkets and Council libraries, as well as several other locations.

Votes can be delivered to bins up to 12 noon on Saturday 11 October during the shop or location’s standard opening hours.

Post boxes

If you are using a NZ Post or DX Mail post box, it is recommended you post your vote by 7 October to ensure it’s received before the cut-off date.

Election hub and special voting hubs

The election hub at Te Awe Library, 29 Brandon Street is open from 9 September – 11 October. Opening hours:

  • 9.30am–5.30pm, Monday–Friday
  • 10am–4pm, Saturday 4 October 2025
  • 9.30am–12 noon, Saturday 11 October 2025.

Additional hubs to assist with special voting will be open at the following libraries in the final week of voting:

  • Johnsonville Library | Waitohi
  • Karori Library | Te Māhanga
  • Ruth Gotelieb (Kilbirnie) Library | Te Awa-a-Taia
  • Newtown Library | Ngā Puna Waiora
