ePlan – our District Plans online

The ePlan is Wellington City's District Plan in a map-based, searchable, easy-to-use tool.

When to use the ePlan

Use our ePlan to find the District Plan provisions that apply to your property. This will help you understand what rules your project will need to comply with.

How to use the ePlan

Note: The ePlan is designed for use on desktop computers and may not function correctly on mobile devices.

The ePlan does not support Internet Explorer. Mozilla Firefox, Google Chrome and MS Edge are supported.

1. Search for your property

2. Click 'Property Specific District Plan Chapters'

Once you've found your property, you can see the District Rules that apply by using the 'Property Specific District Plan Chapters' that appears in the left side menu panel. A message will pop up that informs you that you are now viewing the District Plan for a specific property. Text that doesn’t apply to this property will be hidden.

3. Check for property or area-specific provisions

Also in the left side menu panel, any property or area specific provisions will be displayed.

4. Explore the District Plan provisions for your property

Explore the chapters shown on the middle panel located towards the left of the screen, which are those that may be relevant for your property. In each, the ePlan will show the contents which may be relevant.

To switch between the relevant sections of the plan and the full plan click ‘Show All Text’ at the top of the chapter. To go back to property specific provisions click ‘Show Property Text’ at the top of the chapter.

If you would like to print the sections that are relevant to your property clink the ‘print’ button at the top of the chapter. This will export either a particular section or the full chapter of the plan as a PDF download.
