Back door collections
If you have a disability or health condition that prevents you from taking rubbish and recycling to the kerbside, and there's no one in the household able to help out, then we can provide a back door rubbish (and co-mingled recycling) bag collection for a fee.
For $225 a year, the Council will collect up to two official Council rubbish bags (and two co-mingled recycling bags**) per week from your back door.*
To see if you fit the criteria and want to request this service, complete the application form (PDF 53KB) and send it to the Council address indicated on the form. Once approved you can send a cheque to the same address, or pay online. Applicants who can prove financial hardship may get the service for free.
* Terms and conditions do apply – please read here (PDF 82KB) to see if your household fits the criteria.
** Glass bottles and jars are not included – these need to be wrapped and put out in the rubbish.
Free backdoor household rubbish and co-mingled recycling collection is available if the applicant can prove financial hardship.
Find out if you fit the criteria* and send in your application form for free back door collection. If you qualify, the Council will collect up to four rubbish and co-mingled recycling bags per week from your back door.
