Alerts on neighbouring properties

You can register to receive alerts if someone applies for a resource consent for a neighbouring property.

Registering your interest with us does not automatically mean you are an affected person as defined by the Resource Management Act 1991

Register as an interested neighbour

When you have registered, the Council’s resource consents planner will decide whether or not you are an affected person, using s95 of the Act

If you are not identified as an affected person, we could grant consent for the proposed activity, and your comments will be noted.

If you are an affected person, the proposed activity will become subject to a notifiable resource consent. This means you will have the opportunity to make a submission on the proposal. An independent commissioner will be appointed and they will take your submission into account when making their decision.
