The centre includes a creche, a craft shop, a Citizens' Advice Bureau, and a Justice of the Peace service. It hosts events, activities and classes for all ages, including zumba, drama, yoga, table tennis, ballet and different fibre and craft groups.
The Johnsonville Community Centre was established in 1974, moving to the new purpose-built building in 1995. The design of the centre is intended to reflect the surrounding hills and unique Johnsonville environment.

The facility is wheelchair accessible, with lifts to the two upper floors.

There is a large hall and six meeting rooms for hire.
There are also three kitchens at the centre with a range of different kitchen appliances. All kitchens have boiling water, teapots, coffee mugs and tea towels.
