About the Apprenticeship

The garden apprenticeship is a 3 year programme where you complete a NZ Certificate in Horticulture (level 4) - Amenity.

The apprenticeship is a mix of learning all of the theory and practical elements of amenity horticulture.

The apprentices each spend four months rotating around Otari-Wilton’s Bush, Wellington Botanic Garden, and the Horticulture team during the different seasons. They learn from experienced trainers what it takes to look after all of our beautiful gardens and parks in Wellington.
