Extensions of time when assessing your building

If you need longer than 12 months to assess your building you can apply for an extension of time.

How it works

If you are unable to meet the due date when providing an engineering assessment you can apply for a single extension of up to 12 months. You must apply for an extension no later than 10 months after you were first notified.

How to apply

Once you’ve submitted your application the process takes up to 10 working days. It may take longer if your application is incomplete and we need to ask for more information.

You can submit your application in person, by email, or by post.

You can submit your application at our Service Centre between 8am and 5pm, Monday to Friday. You don't need an appointment.
