ArtSplash

Wellington's primary and intermediate school arts festival.

ArtSplash is a week-long festival, held every two years, that celebrates tāmariki and rangatahi on the big stage. Young people aged 5-13 can experience performing in world-class venues in dance and choir concerts, as well as wearable arts showcases and visual art projects. This page contains information for schools, families and ArtSplash Day Out partners.

We have an exciting line-up of opportunities for ArtSplash 2025 with new events and experiences planned, as well as the concerts that schools know and love.

Tickets

Tickets are now on sale. You can purchase them via the Ticketmaster website.

Before you buy tickets, make sure you confirm with your school which day and time your concert is.

For our Dance concerts there is a limit of 2 tickets per Dance/Wearable Art performer. This is due to limited seating and high number of registrations from schools this year.

Tickets cost $10 per person, with a transaction fee of $5 per event. The transaction fee is fixed regardless the number of tickets you buy (this fee is set and collected by Ticketmaster). Credit card fees may also apply.

If you buy your tickets online, you can access and use them on your mobile device.

ArtSplash Schools Decorate Pōneke

This year, ArtSplash had an exciting new re-brand, but we’re not done decorating yet! We need the help of our amazing ArtSplash Schools to design some artwork which will decorate Wellington City at 2027’s ArtSplash. Put your own spin on the ArtSplash “Spark.” Will you design a statue? A flag? A mural? Your design must feature our spark, but apart from that, the only limit is your imagination!

Submit your designs to us by the 28 August – the last day of ArtSplash – and your design might be selected to be brought to life as a real art installation which will be created and placed in Wellington City in 2027.

There are a range of ways to create your design. From Photoshop and Adobe Dimension, to a simple colouring-in page – all designs will be considered.

How to enter

All designs can be submitted to artsplashcoordinator@gmail.com. Please only submit PDF, PNG or JPEG outputs of your submissions.

Please read our Terms and Conditions before entering. By submitting your design, you confirm that you (or your parent/guardian) have read and agree to the competition terms.
