Petition to WCC mayor, councillors to support residents call for an additional east west bus route loop between – Brooklyn to Kingston via Britomart Rd to Berhampore via Waripori Rd to Newtown and the hospital to John St and return.
Background information
This service would enable passengers off bus 29 from Owhiro Bay and Ohiro Rd at Brooklyn to connect directly with Newtown and the hospital and collect passenger from Britomart Rd. The No 27 service will run directly from Kingston to the City by-passing Newtown and thus creating a New Transfer. One of the main reasons for the changes to buses in 2017 was that it would make access to other areas of Wellington easier and would encourage people to use public transport instead of private vehicles.
