Background information
The Shop Trading Hours Act 1990 s4B provides for shops to be open on Easter Sunday if the council has an Easter Sunday Trading Policy. 44 councils in NZ have such policies. Businesses and consumers should have a choice. The policy does not infringe on worker rights
