Why we are moving

Council voted to close the Arapaki Library and Service Centre as part of the 2024-34 Long-term Plan decisions.

In-person services provided at Arapaki Service Centre will move to Council service desks located within Te Awe Library and Johnsonville Library.

The Arapaki Library and Service Centre opened as a temporary location, following the closure of the Central Library in 2019.

The Central Library is undergoing earthquake strengthening and modernisation. It is expected to reopen in 2026.
