Newtown Community Centre hosts a variety of activities such as concerts, gigs,
theatrical performances, exercise and language classes.
The centre also manages the Newtown Hall and the Smart Newtown community computer hub, which is located in the Network Newtown building.
The centre has been working with and celebrating the diverse Newtown community since 1977.

Office hours: Monday-Friday, 9am–4.30pm.
Spaces can be hired outside of these hours.

On-street parking is very limited, so using public transport is recommended – for bus routes and timetables, visit Metlink website.

There is also a kitchen available to anyone hiring space at the centre. The kitchen has two ovens, a fridge, a hot water zip, a microwave, and a dishwasher and limited amount of crockery and cutlery.
Newtown Hall
The hall has capacity for 60 people. It has a small kitchenette (equipped with an oven, hot water zip, microwave and fridge), two toilets, five tables, and 60 chairs. There are heating panels on the ceiling and a fixed whiteboard on one wall.
Network Newtown
The front half of the building is home to Smart Newtown. The back half of the building has a seminar room with capacity for 15-20 people, available for hire most evenings.
The back half of the building is a large room permanently set up in a classroom style format, used during the day by Kiwiclass for ESOL classes and by Smart Newtown for additional computer classes. It has a large, fixed whiteboard, tea and coffee making facilities and a heater.
