Zero Together

Everyday actions for a better climate future.

Update

Due to budget constraints, our Zero Together programme will be changing from its current form, and we will not be offering further courses beyond those listed. However, we are actively exploring alternative approaches to ensure continued access to course resources for community use. Register to be informed about future developments.

Collective action on climate change is important, but we can make a difference in our daily lives too. Provided by Wellington City Council, Zero Together is a series of practical interactive workshops for Wellingtonians wanting to reduce the carbon emissions from their daily lives. Led by a community facilitator, you'll look at transport, energy use, waste, food, shopping habits and more.

Getting to Zero Together

Join us for five weeks exploring new ideas, sharing experiences, and being inspired to take action. Book now for an upcoming course or register to hear about future developments.

Together, our actions add up

Alongside hundreds of other cities and countries, Wellington has pledged to become a net zero carbon city by 2050. Zero carbon is an achievable but ambitious goal, and time is short.

With household behaviour contributing to 71% of the country’s carbon emissions, our daily decisions can have a significant collective impact. Most New Zealanders think we can reduce climate change and would make lifestyle changes to do so. However, it can be difficult to know where to start and how we can be most effective.

Based on the Future Living Skills programme, Zero Together makes climate action accessible, enjoyable and effective:

  • highlighting opportunities and resources available in Wellington
  • balancing information with discussion
  • bringing people together to share ideas and create connections
  • making the link between climate action and benefits for the environment, community resilience, your budget and your health.
