1. Willis Lane

The newest kid on the block is Willis Lane – a premier dining and entertainment precinct in the heart of the city, right on the corner of Willis Street and Lambton Quay. With a curated selection of entertainment, bars and eateries including Duck Island, Crack Chicken, Wilson Barbeque, Angry Ramen and Corso Pastaria, you’re spoilt for choice.

While you’re there, why not check out the entertainment with Archie Brother's bowling and arcade, or Holey Moley mini golf course? Find out more on the Willis Lane website.

2. Hannahs Laneway

This iconic laneway connecting Eva Street and Leeds Street is a foodie’s dream! It’s packed with amazing cafes, restaurants, bars, and is home to the Wellington Chocolate Factory.

There’s plenty to choose from with local haunts Shepherd, Pizza Pomodoro, Goldings Free Dive, Leeds Street Bakery and Fortune Favours. Check it out for your next meal or tipple (or both), or visit on the weekend to do a chocolate making workshop at the Chocolate Factory!

3. Swan Lane

Swan Lane has just been upgraded and is one of the newest laneways in the city! This lane connects Marion Street to Cuba Street and has some great spots to visit.

Soak up the vibe of the area for brunch/lunch/dinner at Floriditas, wet your whistle and enjoy a nibble at Noble Rot Wine Bar, or indulge in a delicious bagel at Best Ugly Bagels

4. Left Bank

This eclectic laneway off Cuba Street is well loved by Wellingtonians and is home to some long-standing restaurants like Oriental Kingdom.

The next time you’re strolling around the Cuba Precinct, pop into Zelati for tasty gelato, pack in some porridge at The Oatery, or stop for delicious Ethiopian food at Mother of Coffee

5. Tinakori Laneway

This cute cobblestone laneway off Tinakori Road takes you to local gem, Goods cafe! This popular bakery churns out delicious freshly baked pastries and bread, and is the perfect place to pick up a coffee and treat before a walk through the Botanic Gardens ki Paekākā.

In the evening, head to this laneway to check out the Sprig & Fern, one of Wellington’s craft beer breweries.
