Grab some mates and use our Basketball Court finder to find a court near you. From Island Bay to Tawa, all of our outdoor courts are free to use. The indoor courts are low cost and the map will direct you to where you can book them.
3. Book in a social event
Schools and sports clubs often book sports grounds for games and practices, but businesses and community groups can also book them for activities and team-building days. We maintain more than 40 parks. To make a booking visit our website.

4. Climb a peak
Check out our interactive map with 12 recommended peaks around the city. Find out where the best entry point is for each and what sort of climb to expect on your way to the top. Most are suitable for those of average fitness, but if you want more of a challenge there’s information on how to make the hikes a little longer.

There are Council skate parks throughout the city offering local and visiting skaters a range of fun, accessible spaces.
Prefer venturing into the bush on two wheels? Wellington's hilly terrain makes it a great place for mountain biking. Make the most of the many diverse tracks right on our doorstep, or visit the BMX track.
