Power outages

Follow your emergency response plan if you're medically dependent, and contact your healthcare provider if the outage puts you at risk of harm. In a medical emergency, call 111.

If you are driving in the area, please drive with care in case these outages affect traffic lights.

Road closures

All roads on Wellington's south coast have now reopened to through traffic following Friday's initial storm clean-up by City Council crews.

Motorists, cyclists and pedestrians are asked to take care until a further clean-up is carried out by crews next week.

We're happy to report that there's been little damage to our roads and footpaths despite the battering from big seas over Thursday and Friday.

Facilities

Council services and facilities are expected to be fully operational.

Public transport is running as usual. Before you travel, head to metlink.org.nz for up-to-date information. Bus diversions may be in place in some areas.

Members of the public are also urged to stay away from the Town Belt and other reserves due to the risk of falling trees. Council staff will check reserves and begin work to clear any fallen trees.
