Heritage Week is just a matter of time

Wellington Heritage Week starts on Monday, showcasing the history of the city with events, tours, exhibitions, and a chance to go behind the scenes of some hidden treasures in the capital.

In its 4th year, there are over 40 events featured around the region, many of which are free or koha – but bookings are necessary for some, with a few events already booked out.

Enjoy a heritage walk and talk at Zealandia, get a writers guided walk around the city, experience a tour of Karori Cemetery, hear about New Zealand’s Modern Heritage, get on board the Hikitia, or check out Camus Wyatt’s archival images in the Courtenay Place Light Box exhibition.

The Council’s City Archives will also be posting some treasures from their collection throughout the week, so keep an eye on their Facebook page @WCCArchives.

Wellington City Council is proud to partner with Wellington Heritage Week Trust to bring this annual event to the city again.

Wellington Heritage Week runs from 26 Oct – 1 Nov. Visit wellingtonheritageweek.co.nz to see the full list of events.
