On Saturday, fans are invited to step into the shoes of their favourite characters as they embark on a thrilling journey through a world of fantasy and adventure.
Teams of two-to-four members will don their most impressive cosplay outfits and compete in a series of challenges. From re-enacting iconic TV and movie scenes, to solving puzzles and finding hidden treasures, people can test their skills, creativity and teamwork in this epic adventure around one of Wellington’s most famous streets.
The top-performing team will be awarded the coveted Grand Prize, a $1,000 Wellington shopping spree donated by Wellington Airport.
Jeremy Smith, a business owner in the area and Hospitality NZ spokesperson, says the event is part of a programme of initiatives to attract people to Courtenay Place and make people fall back in love with the neighbourhood.
“Partnering with Armageddon gives us an awesome opportunity to show off a different side of one of New Zealand’s most iconic entertainment precincts. We want to attract new audiences to the area and show it’s a place for everyone to have fun.
“This event is being driven by a number of local businesses keen to turn the narrative around about the Courtenay Precinct. We’re a place of hospitality, boutique retail, live theatre and cinema, and amazing dining.”
The event is being supported by Armageddon, Wellington City Council, Wellington International Airport and local businesses as part of a wider plan to rejuvenate the Courtenay Precinct.

Post-event after party:
After the scavenger hunt, all participants will gather for a post-event celebration and share their experiences and funny anecdotes from the hunt. Award prizes will be announced for the winning team, individual achievements and standout performances.
