1. Get yourself a Wellington City Pass

Why choose just one Welly attraction when you can go to multiple?

The Wellington City Pass is a convenient way to experience some of Wellington’s most popular attractions, where you can choose two of the following places to go for one set price: Zealandia Te Māra a Tāne, Space Place, Wellington Zoo, or an Introducing Te Papa Tour.

On top of this, you also get a Cable Car return trip, where you can access some of these awesome attractions and the Botanic Garden ki Paekākā (there’s even a free shuttle to Zealandia!).

2. Grab a cheap eat

WellingtonNZ have put together an awesome list of all the daily dining deals in the city, so you can pick and choose according to your budget!

This includes two-for-one dishes at Chow on a Monday and 77 cent chicken wings at Rogue & Vagabond on a Wednesday.

3. Visit the City Gallery

With the City Gallery being open from 4pm to 7.30pm, it’s the perfect spot to visit after a long day at work. It’s free entry, peaceful and will take your mind off your day! Find out what exhibitions are on through the City Gallery website.

4. Swimming at Thorndon Pool

Wondering how summer disappeared so quickly? If you’re in denial, Thorndon Pool is the perfect place to go. You can still get in your outdoor swims in a temperature controlled, warm pool.

Grab yourself a 10-trip concession pass to cut down on the costs or a sneaky spa and swim pass so you can end with some ultimate relaxation.

5. Pack a picnic

A flying fox, barbeques, your furry friends, and scenic views – only a few of the things that make picnicking in Pōneke places so good. See this list of top picnic spots then bring your favourite food to a local park and take in the fresh air.

Watch out each Friday for a fun list of five great activities to do, places to explore, or things to discover in our awesome city.
