Spring edition of Our Wellington magazine out this week

The new edition of Our Wellington - Tō Tātou Pōneke covers the period from 1 September to 30 November 2022.

In this issue we celebrate the beginning of spring with Te Wā o te Kōanga Spring Festival 2022. Join us for a series of springtime events where we enjoy a new season with friends, whānau, and visitors. Come along to walk among the tulips on Tulip Sunday and join the Wellington Dutch and the Netherlands embassy in welcoming kōanga (spring) to Pōneke.

Inside Tō Tātou Pōneke, we share all you need to know about enrolling for the local election, and behind-the-scenes details of how the Council and volunteers are working in the community to plant around 100,000 native seedlings every year.

There’s the latest on the Omāroro water reservoir and why we’re saying goodbye to library fines. 

We also share a story about the Council’s Urban Design team, and how they’re breathing new life into some of Wellington’s forgotten streets. We learn about the innovative use of rain gardens, and how they’re a natural way of removing pollution from stormwater run-off before it enters our harbour.
