Friday Five: Map your next big adventure!

Do you find yourself visiting the same old spots every weekend? We’ve created a bank of maps to inspire your next adventure.

Here are five ways, inspired by our Wellington Maps webpage, to help you unleash your inner explorer. 

Step back into the dirty '30s and visit Wellington’s Art Deco buildings

Take yourself on a tour of the Art Deco buildings in the central city. This map takes you to 30 of the finest Pōneke has to offer. Step back in time with the historic pictures and information and learn more about these architecturally iconic locations. 

Another reason to visit Wellington Harbour

Wellington Harbour – the classic spot to take your ‘Can’t Beat Wellington on a Good Day’ snap! This stretch has a rich history, which you can find out more about in our Maritime Heritage Trail map. Take a nice seaside stroll and learn more about the past of this space.

Check off all the peaks in Pōneke

Use our #PeakBragging map to find some wonderful Wellington walkways to explore. This map shows the skill level, best spots for a cheeky Insta snap and plenty of other details about the tracks. Find a walk that suits your needs and enjoy the beauty that Pōneke has on offer.

Sick of the same old playgrounds? Try a new one!

Did you know we have over 100 Play Areas in Pōneke? Take your young ones out to have a go on a different playground this weekend. This playground map has a description of the equipment you will find at each play area. Fancy a flying fox? Accessible play equipment? Maybe a supernova spinner? Use this map to find what you and your tamariki are looking for.   

Find a new outdoor spot to enjoy

Always going to the same reserve? Check out some of the other green spaces with our reserves map! This map is a bit of a one-stop shop for exploring the outdoors in Pōneke, highlighting all the public reserves, tracks, toilets, drinking fountains and playgrounds.
