5. Bee a part of something big
September is Bee Aware Month and the whole community is invited to get involved and help raise awareness about the importance of bees for our economy, environment and food production systems.
Wellington Botanic Garden ki Paekākā are running at 'Bees are important to me’ competition for tamariki aged 5 to 12 years. Applicants need to express why bees are important to them by creating a picture, a poem, a story or anything they’d prefer.
Entries close 30 September and will be hung in the Treehouse Visitor Centre for everyone to admire.
