1. Dine-in with At Yours

The At Yours online food directory is back!

Created by the team at Wellington On a Plate, At Yours brings together hundreds of businesses from around the Wellington region offering contactless delivery, click and collect, and takeaway at Alert Levels 3 and 2.

2. Click and collect some locally made creations

Some retail stores can now open for contactless pick-up and delivery under Alert Level 3 so if you’ve been craving a bit of retail therapy, now is your time.

Wellington has heaps of talented designers, creators, artists and retailers to choose from, so why not try and shop locally? It will reduce your carbon footprint, and you’ll be supporting a small business which is a win-win.

Check out the WellingtonNZ shopping guide on their website for some ideas.

3. Explore your neighborhood tracks and trails

It’s officially spring and slowly the days are getting longer and warmer. Take advantage of the weather by exploring your neighbourhood's walks!

Wellington has a huge network of trails and tracks right across the city, so there is something for every bubble in every suburb. Just remember to stay close to home and keep your distance from other walkers.

4. Spring clean your garden

If you’ve got a bit of spare time on your hands during lockdown, it’s a great opportunity to get into the garden!

One of our experts from Wellington Gardens has given us some handy tips for spring with everything from mulching and pruning to lawn renovations.

5. Bee a part of something big

September is Bee Aware Month and the whole community is invited to get involved and help raise awareness about the importance of bees for our economy, environment and food production systems.

Wellington Botanic Garden ki Paekākā are running at 'Bees are important to me’ competition for tamariki aged 5 to 12 years. Applicants need to express why bees are important to them by creating a picture, a poem, a story or anything they’d prefer.

Entries close 30 September and will be hung in the Treehouse Visitor Centre for everyone to admire.

You can learn more about Bee Aware Month on our website.

Watch out each Friday for a fun list of five great activities to do, places to explore, or things to discover in our awesome city (depending on our Alert Level!).
