Pukehuia Park in Newlands is due to be officially opened with a blessing and ceremony

1. Check out the new and improved Pukehuia Park 
 
The newly upgraded Pukehuia Park (formerly Newlands Park) officially opens this Saturday 31 July and everyone's invited! 

Bring the whole whānau and explore two new play areas, a pump track, a picnic and barbeque area, revamped skate park, a basketball half-court and Wellingtons first all-weather Ki-O-Rahi pitch.

2. Support your club on finals day 

It's club rugby finals day on Saturday 31 July, so support your team by heading out to the Hutt Rec for the Jubilee and Hardham Cup finals, plus there's a host of other games on around the region.

3. Start your culinary adventure 

Visa Wellington On a Plate is back, and this year's theme 'Eat Curious' is one for the fresh thinkers, the misfits, the rebellious, those who go against the grain.  

The annual festival is kicking off with a two-day only Pop Up at Shepherd Restaurant on Saturday 31 July and Sunday 1 August where they're bringing back Morgy McGlone's world-famous Belles Hot Chicken.

4. Reimagine what’s possible with Festival for the Future  

Festival for the Future, New Zealand’s largest (and most inspiring) social innovation summit is back at the TSB Arena this week from Friday 30 July to Sunday 1 August. 

Enjoy a carefully tailored fusion of inspiring speakers, workshops, entertainment, and a festival marketplace activation space for social innovation.

5. Just roll with it at Skate n Shake  

Head to the Kilbirnie Rec Centre this Saturday 31 July for their Mid-Winter Christmas Skate n Shake! 

For only $10, enjoy their monthly adult only skating session – skates provided as part of the ticket.
