While this was a great effort, we’re keen to see more Kiwis – especially Wellingtonians – get involved.
It's not about a handful of people doing zero-waste perfectly, it is about everyone making small changes to create one big difference.
This month we’ll be sharing tips and resources on simple changes that can be made around the home and in our everyday lives that the environment will thank us for. Be sure to keep an eye on our social media channels (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter) for these, as well as giveaways and colouring-in competitions for the kids.

The Sustainability Trust also helps Wellingtonians live low waste and energy efficient lives by providing a range of services and eco products. The trust provides sustainability advice, healthy home solutions, and education programmes.
The WasteMINZ website has a lot of great tips including ‘how to’ guides for making your own shopping bags and beeswax wraps, as well as ‘simple swaps’ posters that can be put up around the house, school or workplace as a handy reminder about what we can do to reduce our reliance on plastic.
