The awards recognise and show appreciation to not-for-profit groups, organisations and individuals who work to improve the Tawa community and make it a better place to live. They have been run by the Tawa Community Board every 2 years from 2006 to 2018, and again this year.
Each nominee will receive a certificate from the Mayor of Wellington.
Nominations closed 11.59pm Sunday 29 August 2021.
Award categories
- Arts and Culture
Enhancing and increasing participation in arts, including music and creative leisure activities
- Education and/or Child/Youth Development
Improving and enhancing the development of young people and children
- Health and Wellbeing
Providing services which enhance the wellbeing of people
- Heritage and Environment
Improving or revitalising the environment, culture or heritage
- Sport and Leisure
Enhancing and increasing participation in physical sport, leisure activities and recreational pursuits
Note:
This award is for those involved in ‘running’ the sport or leisure activity, eg coaching or administration, etc, as opposed to being a participant,
- Youth (15 - 24 years)
Celebration and recognition of young people who provide outstanding service within the community of Tawa
What you need to know
- You can nominate an individual, a group or an organisation.
- You can nominate an organisation of which you are a member.
- You may make a nomination for any or all of the six different categories.
- Your identity as a nominator will remain confidential.
Results
The 2021 awards ceremony has been postponed until 2022, due to the August 2021 outbreak of COVID-19 and the associated move to higher alert levels.
