Plant Wellington road islands with natives, not exotics

Petition details

Wellington City Council spends time and money continuously re-planting its road islands e.g. along Lambton Quay with exotic flowers. Instead, these islands are an excellent opportunity to plant hardy natives that need very little maintenance. This would not only save money in the long term, it would be an opportunity to promote New Zealand's beautiful flora in an urban setting and promote our position as New Zealand's natural capital.
