Background

The purpose of the fire bylaw is to minimise the potential fire risk arising from uncontrolled fires and to address public safety concerns and nuisance concerns.

Bylaws must be reviewed every 10 years under the terms of the Local Government Act 2002 (LGA) and the fire bylaw needed to be reviewed by December 2015.
