Provides for good governance in administering the Council's affairs and gives the provisions common to all parts of the Consolidated Bylaw.
Gives legal powers to enforce the Council's 2016 Dog Policy and states what's required when keeping animals and bees.
To protect the public from the nuisance arising from fire and smoke, in regard to aspects other than fire safety.
Prohibits the consumption and possession of alcohol in all public places at all times.
Regulates a range of activities including maintaining standards of public health and safety, protecting the public from nuisances, and managing Council land for public well-being and enjoyment.
Allows the Council to set speed limits by resolutions on roads under its control and in designated areas.
This section was revoked on 26 August 2021, and has been replaced with the Traffic and Parking Bylaw 2021. The new bylaw came into effect on 27 August 2021.
Covers managing and protecting water supplies, waste water, drainage and sanitation.
Provides for the management of municipal waste and diverted material for the Wellington district.
This part of the bylaw requires building owners to repair and maintain their verandahs to a reasonable standard.
