RESOLUTION TO EXCLUDE THE PUBLIC

THAT Council:

Pursuant to the provisions of the Local Government Official Information and Meetings Act 1987, exclude the public from the following part of the proceedings of this meeting namely:

Report 5 - Appointments to Council Controlled Organisations

Grounds: S48(1)(a) That public conduct of this item will be likely to result in the disclosure of information for which good reason for withholding would exist under Section 7.
Reason: S7(2)(a) to protect the privacy of natural persons

Report 6 – Strategy and Policy Committee, Meeting of Thursday 16 March 2006

Grounds: S48(1)(a) Local Government Official Information and Meetings Act – that public conduct of this item would be likely to result in the disclosure of information for which good reason for withholding would exist under Section 7.

Reasons: S7(2)(a) protect the privacy of natural persons, including that of deceased natural persons.

S7(2)(c)(ii) Protect information which is subject to an obligation of confidence or which any person has been or could be compelled to provide under the authority of any enactment where the making available of the information; would be likely otherwise to damage the public interest.

S7(2)(i) To enable a local authority holding the information to carry on, without prejudice or disadvantage, negotiations (including commercial and industrial negotiations).
