Sean was first elected to Council in 2019, and is one of three Eastern Ward councillors for the 2019–22 triennium.
Sean is a lawyer licensed to practise in New Zealand and the UK. His career has primarily been focussed in the oil, gas, and energy sectors and he has worked in diverse locations including the Europe, the Middle East, Africa, Russia and North America.
Sean holds a Masters in Petroleum Law and Policy (with distinction) from the University of Dundee, and is completing a Masters in Climate Change Science and Policy at Victoria University of Wellington.
Sean is an active rugby player turning out for the Wellington "Axemen's" President's team. Sean also volunteers as a community Police Officer, is Chair the Roseneath Residents' Association, and is an Expert Reviewer for the Inter-Governmental Panel on Climate Change's sixth assessment report due out in 2021.
Sean spent twenty years based in London and returned to New Zealand in 2013. He lives in Roseneath and is married with two young children.
