Bikespace

Bikespace is a well-equipped bike workshop in the centre of Pōneke.

At Bikespace you work hands-on alongside one of the friendly and knowledgeable mechanics to fix your bike, while building bike confidence and your own skills for next time.

This service is free thanks to funding from the Council.

Location

Bikespace is currently operating out of a shipping container on 55 Cable Street, next to Te Papa museum.

Opening hours

Check out the Bikespace Facebook page for opening hours each week. These vary based on weather and mechanic availability.

Come along any time during opening hours - no booking needed.

Mobile service

A Bikespace mechanic with all the necessary tools can visit your community or workplace on a cargo bike. This service is free for community groups and businesses.

Bus bike rack

At Bikespace you can also learn how to use the bike racks fitted on Metlink busses. There is a trial bike rack attached to the side of Bikespace with instructions on how to use it, so you can take your bike on busses with confidence.
