Hours and fees

Monday−Friday
All day: $5 per hour or part thereof
Maximum daily charge – starts from 12 midnight each day: $24

Saturday−Sunday, public holidays
All day: $2 per hour or part thereof
Maximum daily charge – starts from 12 midnight each day: $8

Fees are charged per visit – if you leave the car park and return later that day, you will need to pay again.

Overnight parking
If you leave your car parked overnight you will be charged each day you are parked there. For example, if you park all day Wednesday, stay overnight and then leave late on the Thursday you could be charged a maximum of $24 for each day, or $8 if it's the weekend or a holiday.

Motorcycle/scooter parking
There is free parking for motorcycles and scooters on the first floor of the main building.

Maximum length of stay: 2 weekdays
Vehicles left in the car park for more than 2 weekdays in a row will be towed at the owner’s expense.

How to pay

• Take a ticket when you enter and pay at a pay station before returning to your vehicle with cash, credit/debit card or EFTPOS or at an exit station with your credit/debit card.
• Credit card and PayWave transactions will incur a 30c surcharge. There is no surcharge when paying by cash or EFTPOS.
• Use your chip credit/debit card when you enter and the same card at the exit station when you leave.

Tory Street Car Park

Wellington City Council have 474 car parks in the Century City building at 70 Tory Street, Te Aro.

6am−8pm: $5/hour, or part thereof
Early bird − arrive between 6-10am, exit before 7pm: $18/day
Maximum daily charge – starts from 6am each day: $40/day

Saturday−Sunday, public holidays
All day: $3/hour, or part thereof
Maximum daily charge – starts from 6am each day: $10

Overnight parking
8pm−6am: $3/hour

Maximum length of stay
Vehicles left in the car park for more than two weekdays in a row may be towed at the owner’s expense. If you hold a monthly car park then you are exempt and will not be towed.

Reserved parking spaces

Clifton Car Park and Tory Street Car Park have spaces that can be reserved on a long-term basis. As these parks are in high demand, we have a waiting list that will be prioritised when these parks become available. Minimum term is 3 months.

Clifton Car Park

Four areas in Clifton Car Park are set aside for reserved parking:

• Kumutoto (17 spaces) (under the Boulcott and Everton overpasses, southernmost section): $295 per month (including GST)
• Clifton South (109 spaces) (by Kumutoto Lane, central section): $330 per month (including GST)
• Clifton Terrace (86 spaces) (on Rosina Fell Lane, northernmost section): $410 per month (including GST)
• Clifton Covered Area (45 spaces) (nested area in the main building): $440 per month (including GST)

Tory Street Car Park

Customers have two options for a monthly parking agreement.

• Reserved parking: $399 per month (including GST)
  This grants you a specific space within the parking complex which is intended to be available 24/7.
• Unreserved Parking Agreement: $330 per month (including GST)
  This grants you access to the casual parking area but not a specific space. This type of agreement means there is a chance a space will not be available every day. However, the cost is less than the daily casual rate.

Closed car parks

• The Michael Fowler Centre car park is closed as the land is being used for a new temporary home for the Royal New Zealand Ballet.
• The Civic Square car park is closed due to the Central Library being shut.
