The trenching will allow the installation of a high-voltage power connection to the new PwC building under construction on the waterfront.

One southbound lane of Waterloo Quay, between Bunny Street and Whitmore Street, will be closed to traffic after the morning peak period this week so delays can be expected especially during evening peak period.

On Saturday 2 September and Sunday 3 September, Waterloo Quay will be reduced down to one lane in both directions for trenching across the road to Bunny Street. Motorists are urged to take alternative routes during the weekend or expect delays on the quays.

From Monday 4 September to Friday 8 September, Bunny St will be closed to westbound traffic between Waterloo Quay and Featherston St. Detour signage will be in place to assist motorists. Pedestrians in the vicinity of the Railway Station will be redirected around the trenching work area.

The above dates are subject to change depending on the ground conditions and underground services encountered. Any changes to work dates will be displayed on the electronic message boards located at various CBD and SH1 locations.
