Wellington City Council’s Mayor, and Arts and Culture portfolio leader, Justin Lester will be attending a couple of the Council-supported events.
“There’s so much happening around the city this weekend which will really demonstrate Wellington’s culturally rich and diverse arts scene, and wide range of activities available,” he says.
One of the many highlights supported by the Council on the weekend’s calendar will be the City Gallery opening its doors for free this Saturday to all visitors to Cindy Sherman’s internationally acclaimed exhibition.
“City Gallery is excited to offer a free entry day to Cindy Sherman – it’s a great opportunity for those who may not otherwise have the chance to experience a major exhibition from one of the most influential artists living today,” says City Gallery Wellington’s Director Elizabeth Caldwell.
